James McCallan

James holds an MSci in Environmental Geoscience, focusing primarily on physical processes and their impact on the aqueous environment. Through numerous academic projects, James has developed a detailed understanding of historic and current pollutive activities and their impact on the River Avon basin.

Before working for BART, James gained a PGDE in secondary science education and has worked for three years developing a strong aptitude for communicating biology, chemistry, and physics to young people in stimulating ways, as well as enhancing the overall curriculum profile of Earth/Environmental Sciences.

James’ additional experiences in environmental volunteering and as an avid fly fisherman have acted to further embed a strong belief in experiential education as a means of fully engaging people to take interest, ownership, and action in their local environment.
