The Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART) network of volunteer riverfly monitors continue to diligently sample their local rivers and streams, reporting back their data to provide an indicator of river health. Impressively, BART monitors, collect and report back more data to the national Anglers’ Riverfly Monitoring Initiative than any other group in the country!
Between April 2023 and the end of March 2024, BART riverfly monitors undertook and logged the data for 363 surveys and were responsible for 7.3% of all records submitted.
A big thank you to all our riverfly volunteers and of course Martyn Hale our volunteer riverfly coordinator – what an achievement – here’s to many more!
The Riverfly Partnership have collated a report to summarise the findings of all RMI surveys undertaken by BART volunteers between April 2023 to March 2024.
