The river and its green corridors, provide essential habitats for birds, insects and fish. Trees, reeds and a variety of other plants grow within and alongside the river, creating a diverse and beautiful refuge for river users as well as providing a home to beautiful and varied Bristol Avon wildlife. Even within urban settings, there is more to see than meets the eye and those who immerse themselves within blue and green spaces are often rewarded with the sight of kingfishers and dragonflies and, for the very lucky, the otter or water vole.
