Mark Everard, one of the Trust’s Trustees represented BART at the Wild Trout Trust workshop near Princetown, Devon, on the weekend of 8th and 9thJune. Mark also gave an after-dinner talk about ‘Some fantastic things about fantastic fishes’. (This was loosely based around some of the more bizarre entries in Mark’s book Fantastic Fishes: A Feast of Fishy Facts and Fables.) The workshop was not merely informative, but also provided some valuable opportunities for networking both with local people and disciplinary interest that should bolster our work and its impact looking forwards. The venue, the Dartmoor Outdoor Training Centre, was highly appropriate for the workshop’s river focus, even enabling a short fishing session for wild brown trout between main agenda and dinner!
