This April BART is taking part in the Big Give Match Fund, where you will have the chance to support the work we do, and get a 2 for 1 deal!
The Big Give Green Match Fund taking place on the 22nd to the 29th of April, is a Fundraising initiative created by Big Give which gives an opportunity for Charities which focus on environmental issues to have the funds they raise within the week be match funded by the Environmental Funders Network (EFN).
The situation:
Only 12% of waterbodies in the Bristol Avon catchment achieve Good Ecological Status, and all fail for Chemical status (Water Framework Directive). The threats our rivers face include rural and urban runoff, habitat loss, Ecological and Climate emergencies. Many communities find themselves disconnected from their local river. Our mission is to inspire action, reversing these trends to create healthy rivers where wildlife and communities can thrive.
We are aiming to raise £6000 this year which will help us achieve our aims by providing funds to carry out works to restore and enhance the wild waterways within the Bristol Avon Catchment, deliver natural flood management schemes, connect local communities with the green-blue spaces they live alongside, inspire children in school workshops and provide support to farmers in adopting more river friendly land management practices.
